condemn的用法

1、condemn：动词

(通常因道义上的原因而)谴责，指责;宣判;判处(某人某种刑罚);迫使…接受困境(或不愉快的状况)

2、condemn：表示不赞成

~ sb/sth (for/as sth)

The editor of the newspaper was condemned as lacking integrity.

这家报纸的主编被指责为不够正直。

3、condemn：宣判；判处（某人某种刑罚）

~ sb (to sth)

She was condemned to hang for killing her husband.

她因杀害亲夫被处以绞刑。

4、condemn：把某人置于困境

They were condemned to a life of hardship.

他们不得不过着艰难的生活。

5、condemn：宣告使用…不安全

The meat was condemned as unfit to eat.

这种肉被宣告不宜食用。

6、condemn：证明（或表明）有罪

She is condemned out of her own mouth (= her own words show that she is guilty.
