在哪几种情况下英语不用冠词呢？
1、表示比较抽象的概念的名词前不用冠词：
He is interested in science.他对科学感兴趣。
All of us love music.我们都喜爱音乐。
Freedom is very important to them .自由对他们很重要。
2、表示职位或职务的名词作宾语补语、同位语或表语的时候，不用冠词：
He is headmaster of our school.他是我们学校的校长。
We made him monitor of our class.我们选他当班长。
Tom ,manager of his company,will give us a talk next week.
汤姆，他们公司的经理，下星期要给我们作一个报告。
3、 在同一个家庭里，家庭成员的称呼前不用冠词:
The boy asked,“When will father come back?”那男孩问：“爸爸什么 时候回来？”
“Would you please bring me some water,mother?”said the girl.
“妈妈，请给我拿点水来好吗？”那女孩说。
（Mother、Father等名词大写时是表示尊重。）
4、 表示一般概念的物质名词前不用冠词：
Man can not live without water.没有水人就不能生活。
We are short of rain here.我们这里缺少雨水。
5、表示一般概念的复数名词前不用冠词：
Books are very useful for us.书籍对我们很有用。
Dogs are friendly to people.狗对人很友好。
6、 单数名词对应使用时不用冠词：
Teacher and student should help each other.老师和学生应该互相帮助。
Please pass me bread and milk.请给我递面包和牛奶。
7、 表示一日三餐的名词前不用冠词：
We have breakfast at 6.00 every day.我们每天6点钟吃早饭。
He is going to invite us to dinner tomorrow.他明天邀请我们吃饭
8、 表示球类运动的名词前不用冠词：
She likes playing basketball.她喜欢打篮球。
He plays football very well.他足球踢得很好。
9、 英语单词man和woman表示类别时不用冠词：
In our country man and woman are equal.我们国家男女平等。
Man and woman must have equal rights.男女必须享有同等的权利
10、 一些习惯用语中不用冠词：
go to school上学，go to hospital去医院看病，go to bed 上床睡觉，in Chinese用汉语，in English用英语，at noon在中午，at last 终于
