rather用法

1、“Rather”作为副词时，可以表示相当、颇为的意思，例如：

I am rather tired.

（我相当疲倦。）

It was rather hot outside.

（外面相当热。）

2、“Rather”作为连词时，可以表示宁愿的意思，例如：

I would rather stay home tonight.

（我今晚宁愿呆在家里。）
