2015-2016年赴美就读本科的人数超过42万，增加7.1%，就读研究生的人数超过38万，增加6.0%。留学生最热衷选择的专业分别是：工程、商科及管理学、数学和计算机科学、社会科学、物理和生命科学。和去年相比，2015-2016年度学习工程的留美学生人数增加了10%，学商科管理的增加了2%；数学和计算机科学专业的留学生人数增加了25%。
