no matter what 与whatever 有何区别

1、可引导的句子不同

no matter what只能引导让步状语从句。

例句：No matter what you say，I won't believe you．

无论你说什么我也不会相信的。

在引导名词性从句（如主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句），则只用whatever。

例句：Whatever he did was right．

无论他做什么都是对的。

2、语气程度不同

whatever还可用于加强语气，相当于what ever, what on earth等。no matter没有这种用法。

如： Whatever is the matter? 

这是怎么回事? 

3、从句动词不同

有时no matter what引导的从句中，动词可以省略。

例句：In our company, every body is well taken care of, no matterwhat his position (is). 

在我们公司，每个人都得到很好的照顾，不管他地位如何。
