pay attention用法

1、pay attention to sth:

例句：She tried to pay attention to what he was saying.

释义：她尽量注意听他讲话。

注：其中此句中to 后面跟的是由what引导的从句，相当于名词的性质；此句中还有一个语法点，就是try to do sth:尝试去做某事（未尽全力），引申语法点：try doing sth:尽力去做某事（尽全力）。

2、另外一种用法是直接使用pay attention,意思可以表示为“在什么事情上，投入注意力”

例句：If you paid more attention in class,you might actually learn something.

释义：要是你上课更认真一些，也许能实实在在地学到些东西。

3、替换用法give attention to=pay attention to和give attention=pay attention使用方法一样。

例句：As a society we need to give more attention to the needs of older people.

释义：生活在一个社会下，我们得更加关注长者的需求。

例句：Now he's gone,I can give you my undivided attention.

释义：现在他已经走了，我可以把全部注意力都放在你身上。
